Confirmation was administered by the Most Rev. T. Mulvanny on the 6th April. From Drumconrath schools 22 girls and 17 boys were confirmed: From Meath Hill 22 boys and 14 girls.
Mission: 10th to the 24 April. The mission was conducted by the two Vincentian Fathers, Gilmartin and Cullen. The mission was remarkably well attended. A noticeable feature was the large number of
communicants on Wed. Thurs. Fri. Sat. and Sunday mornings. In Meath Hill the number of communicants on each morning was over 350 and in Drumconrath the number was larger still.
The mission was held the first week in Meath Hill and the second week in Drumconrath. It closed in both churches the same night, 24 April and both churches were packed. The people were extremely generous in sending in subscriptions and food-stuffs for the support of the missioners. The prices of admission were 4d for galleries and reserved portion of long aisle, 2d for the rest of the church. On the closing nights the charges were doubled. (For receipts and expenditure see
Drumconrath church account book). The mission was a large success both spiritually and financially.
